Scream Factory Announces Multiple Upcoming Blu-rays Including the ‘House of Wax’ Remake!

The good folks over at Scream Factory have just kicked off the week with a handful of upcoming release announcements, all of which are headed our way this coming Summer.

We’re getting Collector’s Edition releases of House of Wax (2005), The Dead Zone, and Brotherhood of the Wolf, with A Stranger is Watching, Chamber of Horrors and Eight Legged Freaks also coming to Blu-ray this summer courtesy of Scream Factory.

Here’s everything you need to know…

  • House of Wax will release July 13th, with “a new HD transfer created specifically for this release and a new interview with actress Paris Hilton.”
  • The Dead Zone will release July 27th, with “a new HD transfer of the film.”
  • Brotherhood of the Wolf will release July 27th, with extras to be announced soon.
  • A Stranger is Watching will release July 20th, with “an all-new HD transfer of the film.”
  • Chamber of Horrors will release July 27th, with “an all-new HD transfer of the film.”
  • Eight Legged Freaks will release July 20th, with extras to be announced soon.

Gateway Horror Classic ‘The Gate’ Returns to Life With Blu-ray SteelBook in May

One of my personal favorite horror movies of all time, 1987’s gateway horror classic The Gate is opening back up on May 14 with a brand new Blu-ray SteelBook release from Lionsgate!

The new release will feature fresh SteelBook artwork from Vance Kelly, seen below.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
