Arrow Video Bringing Stephen King’s ‘Children of the Corn’ to 4K UHD; Plus Trilogy Box Set!

Arrow Video announced their full September release slate this morning, packed with gems including The Snake Girl and the Silver-Haired Witch, Death Screams, and even a Limited Edition Blu-ray for Ridley Scott’s Legend. Additionally, the original adaptation of Stephen King‘s Children of the Corn is coming to 4K Ultra HD disc for the very first time in September!

And that’s not all, as the solo 4K release for Children of the Corn, which is coming to the US and Canada, is being accompanied by a three-film trilogy set over in the UK.

The trilogy set includes Children of the Corn, Children of the Corn II and Children of the Corn III, with the first film on Region Free 4K disc and the sequels on Region 2 Blu-ray discs.

DISC 1 – CHILDREN OF THE CORN (BLU-RAY / 4K UHD BLU-RAY)

  • Brand new 4K restoration from the original camera negative by Arrow Films
  • Audio commentary with horror journalist Justin Beahm and Children of the Corn historian John Sullivan

Gateway Horror Classic ‘The Gate’ Returns to Life With Blu-ray SteelBook in May

One of my personal favorite horror movies of all time, 1987’s gateway horror classic The Gate is opening back up on May 14 with a brand new Blu-ray SteelBook release from Lionsgate!

The new release will feature fresh SteelBook artwork from Vance Kelly, seen below.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
