“Clarice” and “The Stand” Coming Home in October; “The Stand” 2-Pack Will Include Both Adaptations
From CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment, “Clarice” Season 1 and Stephen King’s “The Stand” are both coming to Blu-ray on October 5, we’ve learned.
The press release explains, “Arriving on DVD, Clarice: Season One follows FBI Special Agent Clarice Starling (Rebecca Breeds) as she returns to the field one year after her encounter with notorious serial killer Buffalo Bill, as described in The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris.”
“Based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel, The Stand will arrive on Blu-Ray™ and DVD. Watch as Mother Abagail (Whoopi Goldberg), Stu Redman (James Marsden), Frannie Goldsmith (Odessa Young), and a handful of survivors navigate through life post-pandemic. Their journey takes a turn when the evil “Dark Man” Randall Flagg (Alexander Skarsgård) tries to construct a new civilization based on destruction, power, and torture.”
“The Stand 2-Pack, which includes the original Emmy Award® winning 1994 miniseries as well as the 2020 Adaptation, will also be available on Blu-ray and DVD on October 5.”

Brazilian Werewolf Fable ‘Good Manners’ Finally Gets Physical Media Release
One of contemporary horror’s best werewolf movies is 2017’s Good Manners, and it’s finally set to receive a proper physical media release.
Icarus Films is partnering with OCN Distribution to unleash a new Blu-ray that’s now available to preorder via Vinegar Syndrome. and with a limited edition slipcover.
Set in São Paulo, the film follows Clara, a lonely nurse from the outskirts of the city who is hired by mysterious and wealthy Ana to be the nanny of her soon to be born child. Against all odds, the two women develop a strong bond. But a fateful night marked by a full moon changes their plans.
Good Manners is the second collaboration between filmmakers Juliana Rojas and Marco Dutra, who write and direct. Zama’s Rui Poças‘ cinematography captures this unique werewolf tale described as “Disney meets Jacques Tourneur.”
Our own Trace Thurman wrote in his review, “With Good Manners, Rojas and Dutro have made one of the best werewolf movies ever made. That they are able juggle commentaries on racism and classism while still managing to tell two deeply affecting love stories is remarkable.”
