‘Brain Freeze’: Zom-Com Streaming on Screambox Ahead of Its Oct. 26th Digital Release [Trailer]

With a successful festival run that saw the film opening this year’s Fantasia International Film Festival, the Zom-Com Brain Freeze is seeking out a whole new audience to devour on Digital beginning next Tuesday, October 26th. For those who want to watch to be infected immediately, Brain Freeze is currently streaming on Cinedigm’s Screambox, powered by Bloody Disgusting.

“When an exclusive golf club starts using a modified fertilizer to keep their courses green all year round, they unwittingly release a plague on their affluent community. Contaminating the water supply, the fertilizer turns the residents into a ravenous clan of emerald-eyed zombies.”

Meagan Navarro reviewed the film, writing that “Brain Freeze thaws out zombie formula with smart commentary and humor.”

You can pre-order on Apple today, and it will also be available to Own or Rent on Amazon, Google Play, Vudu, and more.

Written and directed by Julien Knafo, Brain Freeze is a fresh and fun take on the popular horror sub-genre.

Brain Freeze is eerily timely in its message. Led by industry veterans Roy Dupuis (Screamers) and Claudia Ferri (“Queen of the South”) the story infuses horror, humor, and the larger message of our impact on the environment around us.

“We set out to make an intelligent fable about greed and the price that comes with it,” said producer Barbara Shrier. “Never could we imagine telling a tale so true, cutting so close to a reality none of us saw coming…”

Brain Freeze received the Bronze Audience Award for Best Canadian Feature at Fantasia International Film Festival. The film was also selected at the horror film festival, FrightFest.

The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
