Four More Classic Universal Monsters Movies Coming to 4K Ultra HD This Halloween

Published

on

Last Halloween, Universal upgraded four of their classic movies to 4K Ultra HD with the Universal Classic Monsters: Icons of Horror Collection, a four-film set that spans the years 1931-1941, and includes DraculaFrankenstein, The Invisible Man, and The Wolf Man.

According to Physical Media Connoisseur, Universal Classic Monsters: Icons of Horror Collection Volume 2 is now on the way this Halloween, releasing on October 11, 2022!

The set includes The Mummy, The Bride of Frankenstein, Phantom of the Opera, and Creature from the Black Lagoon, all four movies making their debut on 4K Ultra HD.

Previously, Universal had released a 30-film Universal Monsters Collection on Blu-ray, and it looks like they’re slowly getting around to upgrading those movies to 4K Ultra HD.

Here’s hoping many more 4K collections are on the way in the coming years!

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
