‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ Haunts Digital Next Week, Physical Media in November
The Conjuring: Last Rites debuts on Digital beginning October 7 before hitting Steelboook, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on November 25 via Warner Bros.
Produced by franchise architects James Wan and Peter Safran, the ninth installment in horror’s high-grossing universe had the biggest global opening for a horror movie of all time with $194 million earlier this month.
Special features:
- Last Rites: An Era Ends featurette (8:45)
- The Conjuring: Crafting Scares featurette (8:40)
- Michael Chaves: Believer featurette (7:04)
Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return for one last case as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, based on the real-life Smurl Family Haunting.
Michael Chaves (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Nun II) directs from a script by Ian Goldberg & Richard Naing (The Autopsy of Jane Doe, The Nun II) and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It).
Mia Tomlinson, Ben Hardy, Steve Coulter, Rebecca Calder, Elliot Cowan, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsdon, John Brotherton, and Shannon Kook round out the cast.
Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “Last Rites is suitably nightmarish where it counts, bringing memorable chills that linger and spilling more blood than usual in a Conjuring film. But it’s more affecting for the way it wears its heart on its sleeves, with Wilson and Farmiga giving their final bow as Ed and Lorraine Warren their all.”
A 4-film collection featuring the 4 Conjuring films and a 9-film collection featuring the entire Conjuring universe will be available on Digital on October 7. The 4-film set will also be available on Blu-ray and DVD on November 25.

‘Hokum’ Heads Home to Digital Tomorrow Ahead of Physical Media Release in August
After scaring up a strong theatrical run, Oddity director Damian McCarthy’s Hokum heads home to Digital this week.
Settle in for a spooky supernatural chiller as Hokum arrives on all Digital platforms to rent or own beginning June 2, followed by a Blu-ray/4K Ultra HD Combo and DVD release on August 11, 2026.
Adam Scott (“Severance”) stars in Hokum as reclusive novelist Ohm Bauman. When he retreats to a remote Irish inn to scatter his parents’ ashes, the staff’s tales of an ancient witch haunting the honeymoon suite take hold of his mind. Disturbing visions and a shocking disappearance draw Ohm into a nightmarish confrontation with the darkest corners of his past.
Peter Coonan (“The Alienist: Angel of Darkness”), David Wilmot (“Station Eleven”), Florence Ordesh (“Departure”), Michael Patric (“Frontier”), Will O’Connell (“Game of Thrones”), Brendan Conroy (“Bodkin”), and Austin Amelio (“The Walking Dead”) also star.
Get a peek at the upcoming physical media release below, including a few special features.
Spooky Pictures’ Roy Lee (Weapons) & Steven Schneider (Insidious) produce alongside Image Nation’s Derek Dauchy (Late Night with the Devil), Tailored Film’s Ruth Treacy, Julianne Forde, & Mairtín de Barra, and Cweature Features’ Ken Kao & Josh Rosenbaum.
I wrote in my review for Bloody Disgusting, “A quaint Irish hotel with a deeply haunted history awaits an American writer in McCarthy’s third outing, continuing his streak for folkloric tales of supernatural karma and spine-tingling terror with a dark sense of humor.”
What’s next from Damian McCarthy? He’s currently writing a haunted house movie, but recent comments suggest he may be moving into other genres beyond that upcoming project.
