The Strangers: Chapter 3 will bring the slasher trilogy to a close on Digital this Friday, March 6, according to an Amazon listing.
No word on when (or if) the supercut combining all three films — along with two new killers — will see the light of day.
Madelaine Petsch (“Riverdale”) returns as Maya for the final girl’s long-awaited vengeance, with a full-circle reckoning that expands the mythology of the masked killers.
Renny Harlin (Deep Blue Sea, Die Hard) once again directs from a script by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland.
Gabriel Basso (Super 8), Ema Horvath (“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”), Pablo Sandstrom, and Richard Brake (Barbarian) round out the cast.
Courtney Solomon, Mark Canton, Christopher Milburn, Gary Raskin, Alastair Burlingham, and Charlie Dombek produce.
The Strangers trilogy was filmed concurrently in Slovakia back in 2022 before the sequels underwent additional photography. Chapter 1 was released in 2024 to the tune of $35.2 million at the domestic box office. Chapter 2 earned $15.1 million last September, while Chapter 3 made $8.5 million last month.
Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “Madelaine Petsch’s exhausted final girl Maya has been on the run for one night of grueling hell, stretched far too thin across three separate films. However, instead of a full circle reckoning, The Strangers: Chapter 3 crawls toward its confused conclusion.”
