Before Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. returned for last year’s legacy sequel, I Know What You Did Last Summer slashed back into our lives with a short-lived television series. Telling a brand new story in a brand new location with brand new characters, the Prime Video series lasted just one season before being cancelled by the streamer back in 2022.
Four years later, we’ve learned that Sony is finally bringing the series to Blu-ray. “I Know What You Did Last Summer” – The Complete Series hits Blu-ray on June 23, 2026.
A new spin on the classic Lois Duncan novel and 1990s slasher film franchise, Amazon’s “I Know What You Did Last Summer” television series premiered back in October 2021.
Personally speaking, I quite enjoyed the show’s debut season, even if I didn’t love where things went in the finale. The series provided a fresh spin on the material and was anchored by great central performances from Madison Iseman and Brianne Tju, both of whom brought rich, complex characters to the screen that I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with.
The good news for those who haven’t yet started the show but may want to check it out? The first season’s finale does wrap up the central mystery, *mostly* answering the big questions raised throughout the season. Alas, it also suggests a potentially fun second season revolving around the surviving characters, but it seems we’ll be left wondering where they go from here.
If you want to check it out, you’ll find Season 1 over on Amazon Prime.
Madison Iseman (Annabelle Comes Home, Jumanji: The Next Level), Brianne Tju (Light as a Feather), Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore (Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), Sebastian Amoruso (Solve), Fiona Rene (Stumptown), Cassie Beck (Connecting), Brooke Bloom (Homecoming), Sonya Balmores (“Inhumans”) and Bill Heck (I’m Your Woman) star.
I Know What You Did Last Summer is a modern take on the 1997 film that honors the same chilling premise – in a town full of secrets, a group of teenagers are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.
The project was based on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan. I Know What You Did Last Summer was produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television. Sara Goodman wrote and executive produced along with executive producers Shay Hatten, Original Film’s Neal Moritz and Pavun Shetty, and Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Rob Hackett and Michael Clear.
