After a 53-day theatrical run that earned $656 million at the global box office, Project Hail Mary has landed on Digital for rent ($19.99) and purchase ($24.99).
Based on the 2021 novel by Andy Weir (The Martian), the sci-fi epic is directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street) and written by Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods, The Martian).
Ryan Gosling stars as science teacher Ryland Grace, who wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out.
He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction… but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone.
Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, and Milana Vayntrub round out the cast.

Project Hail Mary stands as the second highest-grossing film of 2026, behind The Super Mario Bros Galaxy Movie‘s $940 million worldwide total.
