Veteran independent film producer and Cartuna founder James Belfer has launched a new home video label, Video Visions, and its initial lineup, including Dead Lover and X-Rated Fuck My Son!, is available for preorder now.
The company will release Limited Edition, Collector’s Edition, and Standard Edition Blu-rays; the discs will be designed in close collaboration with filmmakers and sold directly on Video Visions’ website.
As of today, the online store is open for business, with a physical store titled Video Visions Too in Chatham, NY, set to open its doors in 2027.
The press release notes that titles in the collection run the gamut from “festival darlings to fringe favorites, and lean toward visceral, provocative, experimental, and DIY works that will get the canonical treatment Belfer feels they deserve.”
Included in that are upcoming physical releases of Grace Glowicki’s Dead Lover, with a Stink-O-Vision card included; the rotoscope-animated folk-horror and Latvia’s 2026 Oscar entry Dog of God; and a collector’s edition of Todd Rohal’s Fuck My Son!
The former is a theatre lover’s dream, whereas the latter exploitation flick is designed to offend. Joe Lipsett wrote in his TIFF review, “But the film is frustratingly repetitive, particularly in the saggy back half when it is too content to rely on rape jokes and simply screaming its own title for comedic effect. By the time Fuck My Son! reaches the first of its two drawn-out endings (denoted by separate title cards), the film might as well be torturing us alongside Sandi.”
Indie comedy darling Hundreds of Beavers is also available, complete with furry slipcase.
Vidio Visions’ upcoming slate is below, but which titles drop each month remains a mystery until a pre-order window opens each lunar cycle.
