The countdown appears to be over, but the only thing accompanying the expiration is a new photo from Alien: Covenant, this time featuring one of the actual stars of the film.

Above you can see Prometheus‘ David (Michael Fassbender), an android that become obsessed with the power of creation and was the catalyst behind the releasing of the black DNA. His head survived the end of the film and was whisked away by Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) to the Engineers’ home planet. We have no idea what has happened to Shaw, although it was confirmed that she does appear in some capacity. As for David, well, he’s apparently the sole inhabitant on a newly dead planet when the Covenant crew arrive.

But wait, could this be WALTER? Who is Walter? Back in November, Fassbender revealed that there will be two robots in Alien: Coventant.

“I am allowed to say I am playing two robots — Walter and David,” the actor told the Irish Times. “I think what’s great about it is that Ridley has gone back to the original DNA of ‘Alien,’ the horror element of that. But is also has the scope and the scale of ‘Prometheus.’ Ridley has cut it already. He is a machine. He is an incredible human being and he was in such good form. He is such an imaginative and mischievous figure.”

So, who is Walter? Is he a more advanced version of David? Was he created by David? Does this mean there could be other creations by the robot God? It’s been teased that David is experimenting with alien DNA, so who knows what kid of Frankenstein story Covenant is going to be!

Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice, Jobs, The Babysitters) heads the new crew with Demian Bichir and Danny McBride (“Eastbound and Down”), as well as Alex England (Gods of Egypt), Billy Crudup, Amy Seimetz (A Horrible Way to Die, “The Killing”), Jussie Smollett (“Empire”), Carmen Ejogo, and Callie Hernandez (Machete Kills). James Franco is also confirmed to be among them all.

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Alien: Covenant – here’s everything we know so far – takes off for Paradise on May 19, 2017.

‘A Man in the Woods With an Axe’ – First Look at ’80s Throwback Slasher [Exclusive]

We have an exclusive first look at A Man in the Woods With an Axe, a blood-soaked, genre-twisting homage to 1980s slasher films.

Spanning four decades, A Man in the Woods With an Axe begins in the summer of 1987 before pushing into the modern era, weaving together timelines and perspectives in a way that builds both dread and intrigue.

Drawing inspiration from genre standouts like Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, Hatchet, and The Cabin in the Woods, the film blends visceral horror with moments of dark humor, creating a uniquely balanced experience that honors tradition while carving its own identity.

Writer-director Dillon Brown (Primal Darkness) aims to deliver everything fans crave from a slasher while boldly subverting expectations with a mid-film twist that redefines the story.

“This is an unapologetic love letter to the films that made me fall in love with horror,” Brown tells Bloody Disgusting. “But I didn’t just want to recreate that feeling; I wanted to challenge it. About halfway through, the film takes a turn that completely changes how you view not only this story, but the genre itself.”

Brown describes the vintage-inspired production as “far and away the bloodiest film I’ve ever made,” with practical effects helmed by Cody Ruch (The Mill, Pig Hill), an instructor at Tom Savini’s Special Make-Up Effects Program.

From Horror Dadz Productions, A Man in the Woods With an Axe is currently in production and targeting an early 2027 release.
