Hailing out of Vietnam is Derek Nguyen’s The Housemaid, which is set to have its North American premiere at the LA Film Festival in their Nightfall category.
In the film, after an orphaned Vietnamese girl is hired to be a housemaid at a haunted rubber plantation in 1953 French Indochina, she unexpectedly falls in love with the French landowner and awakens the vengeful ghost of his dead wife.

The LA Film Festival takes place June 14 – June 22, 2017, headquartered at ArcLight Cinemas Culver City, with additional screenings at ArcLight Hollywood, ArcLight Santa Monica and more.
