Masks sure have come a long way since I was a kid, and I am absolutely blown away by artist Paul Bailey’s hand-made silicone mask of Freddy Krueger, which is specifically based on the Dream Demon’s look in Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge. Profiled by NightmareOnElmStreetFilms.com, Bailey’s Freddy cosplay is *scarily* screen accurate.
We have seen countless fans dress up as Freddy Krueger over the years, but never have we seen anyone almost literally transform into Robert Englund’s Freddy like this. Honestly, it’s hard to tell the difference between photos of Bailey as Freddy and screen-caps from the actual film, which is a testament to his talents and proof of how far cosplay has come.
Bailey explained to the site, “The sculpt alone took a long time because I didn’t want to compromise on accuracy. I wanted my translation to be as close as possible to the source material without interpretation or my own stylistic choices interfering. The scars are like a puzzle and if you go too far off with one, it throws everything off in a domino effect.”
