Matt Ferguson Created Four Incredible John Carpenter Tribute Posters Last Year and You Can Now Buy Them!

Published

on

As you may recall, artist Matt Ferguson whipped up brand new artwork for the release of 4K restorations of four classic John Carpenter films over in the UK last year, and Vice Press & Grey Matter Art have now jointly released that artwork in the form of four 30″x40″, classic British Quad size prints. The posters will be up for grabs for just one week, starting NOW.

The four films are Escape from New York, The Fog, They Live and Prince of Darkness.

“Last year I had the distinct pleasure of being hired by StudioCanal to work on the 4K John Carpenter classics. I conceptualised and made all of the key art for the films. It was a dream job for me and I am really happy the art came out pretty much exactly as I intended. My ideal versions of the art are the UK quad size, it’s the way the art was intended to be viewed and also my personal favourite dimensions for movie posters, so I am really happy that we are getting to make these available to people,” Ferguson said in a statement today.

Each poster will retail for £50/ $60 or all four can be purchased as a set for £150/ $180. Each print will be signed and numbered by the artist and the total size of the edition will be based on the number of posters ordered during this period. As a special bonus, customers ordering the full set will also receive a bonus, never before released mini print.

Now through 1/17 at 12pm EST, grab them through Vice-Press.com or GreyMatterArt.com.

Dead Mail SXSW Dead Mail interview

One of the genre films we’re looking forward to checking out at SXSW this year is Dead Mail, written and directed by Joe DeBoer and Kyle McConaghy and premiering on March 9.

Meagan Navarro will be reviewing Dead Mail for Bloody Disgusting as part of her SXSW coverage, and she writes in her preview for the upcoming fest: “Dead Mail leans heavily into the ’80s analog aesthetic, delivering a unique crime thriller unafraid to get offbeat with its dark narrative. Expect its characters to be as atypical as Dead Mail‘s sense of style.”

In the SXSW 2024 horror film…

“On a desolate, Midwestern county road, a bound man crawls towards a remote postal box, managing to slide a blood-stained plea-for-help message into the slot before a panicking figure closes in behind him. The note makes its way to the county post office and onto the desk of Jasper, a seasoned and skilled “dead letter” investigator, responsible for investigating lost mail and returning it to its sender. As he investigates further, Jasper meets Trent, a strange yet unassuming man who has taken up residence at the men’s home where Jasper lives.

“When Trent unexpectedly shows up at Jasper’s office, it becomes clear he has a vested interest in the note, and will stop at nothing to retrieve it…”

Sterling Macer, Jr., John Fleck, Susan Priver, Micki Jackson, Tomas Boykin, and Nick Heyman star in Dead Mail. Preview the film with an exclusive image gallery below.
