Canada-based artist Matthew Therrien is a favorite of ours here on Bloody Disgusting, and his latest art series reimagines your favorite horror icons as classical paintings!
More specifically, Therrien dedicated himself to whipping up every single iteration of both Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees as expressionist-style paintings, touching upon the classic looks of both and also illustrating their most oddball looks. He’s included purple and blue Jason from the NES game, for example, and even Dream Child‘s Super Freddy.
In total there are eight pieces in the Elm Street collection and thirteen in the Friday the 13th collection, and for Halloween he’ll be tackling the looks of Michael Myers next.
The series also includes standalone pieces of other iconic horror characters such as Ghostface, Wendy Torrance, Leatherface, Pennywise and Valak, among others.
Therrien is offering limited edition signed and numbered giclee art prints of the portraits (5×7″ printed on coldpress watercolour paper with archival inks) over in his online shop.
