A7SLE Films has hired hot writer Max La Bella to script the true story adaptation The Devil’s Rooming House, about early 20th century murderess Amy Archer-Gilligan.
“Archer-Gilligan was the unassuming nursing home proprietress who had a curiously high number of fatalities occur in her house between 1907 and 1917. The majority of the deaths were found later to be caused by poisoning, and Archer-Gilligan was found guilty of multiple counts of murder.”
Deadline reports that A7SLE Films, the production shingle co-founded by Twilight star Peter Facinelli, snapped up rights to writer M. William Phelps’ chronicle of the Archer-Gilligan saga last year.
La Bella previously wrote Dimension Films’ James Wan-produced thriller Demonic, starring Maria Bello and Frank Grillo, and recently sold an untitled thriller to Skydance.
