Finnish Roger! Pictures who has partnered with US-based legendary game developer Cinemaware to produce a motion picture adaptation of the classic 80’s game It Came From the Desert about a giant mutated ants which wreak havoc in New Mexico desert has made big sales in Cannes Film Festival.
The action-horror-comedy film was successfully licence to Germany, France, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, Taiwan by Canadian-based Raven Banner Entertainment.
Roger’s producer Teemu Virta comments: ”The ants got very good reception in Cannes with the buyers around the world. We are now very close to secure financing, and targeting to start to shootings by the end of this year.”
Producers also wanted to release a 2 min proof-of-concept video made for buyers in Cannes Film Market. The video gives a sneak peek of the terrifying mutant ants for the upcoming movie. The shoot of the Marko Mäkilaakso -helmed actioner begins later this year for 2016 release.
