Long-time Bloody Disgusting readers know I’m a huge Catherine Hardwicke.
I absolutely love Thirteen and Lords of Dogtown, and even think her Twilight and Red Riding Hood are passable.
While she’s been off her game as of late, to hear she’s going to helm a full-blown horror film gets me awfully excited.
Hardwicke is in talks to direct the horror-thriller Wish Upon for Broad Green Pictures and Busted Shark Productions, TheWrap reports.
Written by Barbara Marshall, and sounding a bit like Wishmaster meets “The Monkey’s Paw,” “Wish Upon follows a 16-year-old girl who finds a magic box that promises to grant her seven wishes, but with each wish comes dark and gruesome consequences.”
Busted Shark’s Sherryl Clark (Cloverfield) is producing, having previously worked with Hardwicke on the thriller Plush (currently in post-production).
