The Jeff Hart novel “Eat, Brains Love” – which is a play on the Elizabeth Gilbert novel “Eat, Pray, Love” – is being adapted into a feature-length film from Gunpowder & Sky, according to Variety.
The book follows, “…a pair of high-school sweethearts who contract a mysterious zombie virus and devour the brains of half their senior class. They set off on a cross-country journey to discover a cure, while being pursued by a teen psychic sent by the government’s top-secret Necrotic Control Division to track them down.”
Gunpowder & Sky will be working with DIGA on this project. DIGA sounder Tony DiSanto exclaims, “It’s got everything you need from a movie — high school insanity, zombie sex, action, zombie sex (again) and over-the-top violence!”
“Eat, Brains, Love” has a sequel titled “Undead with Benefits”. It’s not confirmed if that book has also been optioned for a film.
