Bobbi Sue Luther, a close friend of Bloody Disgusting, will be producing Devil’s Night with Blumhouse, Heat Vision reports.
The screenplay is by Sean Tretta, a writer on Syfy’s “12 Monkeys” series.
The film explores what happens on the infamous Devil’s Night, which is the night before Halloween.
The tradition of youth causing mischief on Oct. 30 has existed since the 1930s, but in the 1980s in inner cities, especially Detroit, the crimes became more destructive, including arson and vandalism.
Luther produced the slasher Laid to Rest for Rob Hall and was also behind the post-apocalyptic Aftermath, starring Monica Keena and Edward Furlong. She also produced the best story in ABCs of Death 2, which was directed by Cheap Thrills‘ E.L. Katz, and starred in the Night of the Demons remake.
