Sony just shared three character banners for Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, which introduce Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig), Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon), and Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones), to go along with some one-liners.
For whatever reason, Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy) didn’t get one, yet.
“Dead criminals from all eras of New York’s underbelly past have returned to roost among the living,” EW stated, revealing more of the plot. “Pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters are ready to take on four formidable female busters looking to rid the city of its phantasmic filth.”
Director Paul Feig has filmed cameos (in new roles) for many of the original Ghostbusters cast, including Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and even Sigourney Weaver.
Andy Garcia, Michael Kenneth Williams, Matt Walsh and Pat Kiernan also star in Ghostbusters.
“SNL” vet Neil Casey is the main Ghostbusters villain, Rowan, described as a convicted murderer who turns into a ghost after his execution is hit by a supercharged electrical storm. This gives him the power to raise an army of other ghosts, which could be made up of famous villains throughout history.
