New Line Cinema has acquired film rights to Swedish author Camilla Grebe’s bestselling 2015 novel The Ice Beneath Her, Deadline reports.
Similar in tone to such recent book-to-film adaptations as “Gone Girl” and “The Girl on the Train: with its unreliable narrator, “Grebe’s book revolves around an investigator and psychological profiler who work to solve the case after a young woman is found beheaded in the home of a prominent businessman. The investigation quickly evolves into a race against time.”
The novel will be released in December in North America via Ballantine Books.
The psychological thriller will be produced by Andrew Lazar (American Sniper).
