Karl Urban: “Conversations Are Happening” For the Return of ‘Dredd’
A week ago, actor Karl Urban was tweeting about how he’d be completely open to seeing the return of Dredd in the form of a Netflix or Amazon original series. While that sentiment was something many of us viewers shared in, there was nothing all that concrete or newsworthy about it simply because there was no substance. It was just an actor’s desire to see one of his roles continue.
However, it seems that this desire has caught the attention of one if not both of those companies as Urban stated at this weekend’s Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo that “conversations are happening” for a possible series. A petition for a series has already accrued over 145,000 signatures.
I loved Urban’s 2012 film and I know that there is a wealth of lore in that universe to make something really special. If either of these services makes a series happen, I have a feeling there will be a lot of new subscribes!

You may end up rethinking karaoke nights with your friends after you watch the upcoming horror-comedy Bad Karaoke, set to World Premiere on Sunday, August 30 as part of Tubi FrightFest in London. You can preview the film with the official trailer below.

In the film, “When wedding band keyboardist Emily discovers an old karaoke machine in the back of a dive bar, she thinks it will lead to a fun-filled night of singing and bonding with her bandmates. Unfortunately, this karaoke machine seems to have a thirst for blood.”
“When the singing begins, so does the bloodshed.”
“When an excellent performance allows someone to be spared by the machine, the crew think they’ve figured out how to finally beat it. Proven almost immediately wrong, it takes more horrifying deaths and a visit from a mysterious stranger to realize they may have a chance at survival after all.”
Lexi Underwood (“Cruel Summer”), Case Walker (Monster High: The Movie), and Kat Cunning (Purple Hearts) star in the upcoming horror-comedy Bad Karaoke.
Chris Lightbody and Spencer Yaras wrote the screenplay.
“We were inspired to make this film after years of painful karaoke performances nearly put us in an early grave,” the directors said in a statement. “We found that many people have had near-death karaoke experiences and we wanted to play with that idea, as well as say something profound about the state of new music. But instead, we made Bad Karaoke.”
