‘Swiss Army Man’: Daniel Radcliffe Farts and Gets a Boner in the New Red Band Trailer

SWISS ARMY MAN

People walked out of Swiss Army Man during its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, and I feel bad for them. Those are the kind of people who have a stick up their ass and think they’re too good for film.

Yes, Daniel Radcliffe farts in this movie, in which he plays a corpse who spiritually rescues a man who is lost (Paul Dano). But it’s in the context of his character and not in a way that’s meant to shock the audience. It sort of asks, what if Weekend At Bernie’s were a real incident? What if Bernie really were dead on a beach? Then it mixes in the harrowing story that’s similar to Cast Away.

But I digress…if anyone is turned off by the farting corpse, they’re really going to hate when Radcliff’e character gets a full-on chubby in this red band trailer for the June 24th release (through A24).

Fred Topel reviewed the film out of Sundance, where he stated:

“This is what I love movies for. When I hear an outrageous, bizarre idea, I want to see how that director pulls it off.”

Swiss Army Man is the directorial debut of music video duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, who clearly had a unique vision that explodes onto the screen.

The Thing and 10 Cloverfield Lane‘s Mary Elizabeth Winstead also stars.

The film was produced by Jonathan Wang, Lawrence Inglee, Miranda Bailey, Amanda Marshall, Eyal Rimmon and Lauren Mann. Executive producers are Gideon Tadmor, William Olsson and Jim Kaufman.
