The Joe Kelly-written graphic novel I Kill Giants, which was illustrated by J.M. Ken Niimura, is getting ready to kick off production this August. Umedia has just come aboard to finance the picture, according to Deadline. Chris Columbus (The Goonies, Home Alone) will be producing alongside Kim Magnusson and Kyle Franke.
The story follows Barbara, a troubled young girl who insists that giant monsters are coming and that she can help. This leads to her being bullied and outcast and strains the relationships she has already built. Zoe Saldana will be playing Mrs. Mollé, “…the school psychologist who helps Barbara through her struggles and forms a tight bond with her as a result.”
Madison Wolfe, who plays Janet Hodgson in The Conjuring 2, will be playing the role of Barbara.
