A new poster for the upcoming sequel Ouija: Origin of Evil has been released and it’s incredibly simply yet there is a rather charming air about it. It states the name of the film, shows a young woman playing with the spirit board, and says “Coming Soon” at the bottom, which isn’t anything we haven’t seen before. However, the composition, the lighting, and the coloring all give it a look like it’s from the 70’s. I actually really dig it!
Ouija: Origin of Evil is directed by Mike Flanagan (Oculus, Before I Wake, Hush) and stars Annalise Basso, Parker Mack (Divergent), Sam Anderson, Kate Siegel (Oculus), Doug Jones (Hellboy), Elizabeth Reaser, Henry Thomas, and Lulu Wilson.
It was never just a game. Inviting audiences again into the lore of the spirit board, Ouija: Origin of Evil tells a terrifying new tale as the follow-up to 2014’s sleeper hit that opened at number one. In 1965 Los Angeles, a widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to bolster their séance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. When the youngest daughter is overtaken by the merciless spirit, this small family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.
The film, which comes from Universal Pictures, Platinum Dunes, Blumhouse Productions and Hasbro, is expected to come out October 21, 2016.
