The ‘Ghostbusters’ Test Out a New Gadget and Blow Sh*t Up

Ghostbusters

Whatever your stance is on Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, there’s one bright spot that cannot be ignored. Kate McKinnon is primed to be a scene-stealer and become the fan favorite. Out of all of the casting, makeup, and design work, McKinnon’s portrayal of Jillian Holtzmann touches remarkably close to the “Real Ghostbusters'” Egon Spengler, only injected with life.

In this first clip, the new ‘busters – including Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig), Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones), and Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy) – test out some gadgets, and thus blow shit up. It’s pretty mundane, except for McKinnon’s energy that lifts it up out of a dark place. It’ll be interesting to see how she pars in the entire film, which most people have already decided they hate (as a movie fan, you have to at least give it a chance, right?).

In theaters July 15, Feig has filmed cameos (in new roles) for many of the original Ghostbusters cast, including Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and even Sigourney Weaver.

Andy Garcia, Michael Kenneth Williams, Matt Walsh and Pat Kiernan also star in Ghostbusters.

“SNL” vet Neil Casey is the main Ghostbusters villain, Rowan, described as a convicted murderer who turns into a ghost after his execution is hit by a supercharged electrical storm. This gives him the power to raise an army of other ghosts, which could be made up of famous villains throughout history.
