The OG flatliner is coming back home! Kiefer Sutherland (Mirrors, The Lost Boys), who played Nelson in the 1990 sci-fi/thriller Flatliners has committed to joining the upcoming remake, although the deal has not yet been finalized, according to Deadline.
The remake is being directed by Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and also stars Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton, and Kiersey Clemens. It is being produced by Laurence Mark and Michael Douglas and will go into production in Toronto in the coming days.
The original film follows a group of medical students who purposefully die and bring each other back to life so as to study “near death” experiences. It was released in 1990 and starred Sutherland, Kevin Bacon, Oliver Platt, and Julia Roberts.
