The Saw is Family

Some movie props are awesome but not really all that useful. Sure, I’ve got a mask or a glove or a poster or whatever but how does that really make my life better aside from being displayed and proving my love of the genre? That’s all well and good but my garden is overgrown and it’ll take a hell of a lot to get through that mess! If only I had something that could cut through it all like a hot knife through butter…

Enter Neil Olivier, a man who is besotted with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, particularly Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III and the “Excalibur” chainsaw that Leatherface uses to slice and dice his victims. It’s because of this passion that Olivier has been making replicas of both the “Excalibur” and the “Skin and Bone” saws that were featured in the film and DAMN do they look good!

Olivier explains, “I have spent years researching and testing to make the most accurate replica of the saws used in the film. I believe that my replica saws are as close as you can get to the real thing. In fact, I have even helped restore and replace missing pieces of the only known Excalibur saw to still exist.

Below are videos that showcase both models and if you’re interested in picking one up for yourself or a friend then all you have to do is head on to Olivier’s website and he lays it all out!

Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest) is getting back to his roots with A24‘s Onslaught, and many fans have been wondering if the events of the upcoming film connect in any way to one of Wingard’s previous movies, The Guest. After all, they do seem to be cut from a similar cloth, with some speculating that they might take place in the same universe.

But is there any truth to that speculation? In a new interview out of San Diego Comic-Con this week, Adam Wingard has revealed that the fans are definitely onto something!

Wingard explains, “I look at this as a cap in the trilogy between The Guest and You’re Next. It’s not like a direct sequel, in the sense that it’s a continuation of those characters, but it takes place in the same town as The Guest. The idea is that the secret programs we’re seeing going on here are other little aspects of the same thing David’s character came from in The Guest.”

“So you could actually technically call this a sequel,” Wingard admits. “It’s in the same universe.”
