‘Phantasm: Ravager’ Locks Down a Release Date?

Published

on

Update: EW has revealed that the movie will be coming out in theaters and via digital HD on October 7th.

The last we posted about Phantasm: Ravager was a trailer that unfortunately had to be taken down. Since then, there has been pretty much radio silence on the fifth entry into Don Coscarelli’s franchise that began in 1979. Today changes that.

Phantasm series star Reggie Banister was scheduled to appear at this Fall’s Monster-Mania Con in Hunt Valley, MD. However, it turns out that he is unable to make his appearance as he will need to be in Los Angeles for the release of Phantasm: Ravager, according to a Facebook post. It’s unclear if this is a premiere before a wider release or if this is a one-off event. However, it’s exciting because it’s still forward progress.

Phantasm: Ravager, which will be the fifth and final entry in Don Coscarelli’s classic horror Phantasm series, features Reggie Bannister (a veteran of all five films) in his decades long pursuit of the malevolent Tall Man, and it finally forces him to confront the mysteries at the heart of the Phantasm saga. The entire original cast is back including Michael Baldwin, Bill Thornbury, Kathy Lester and Angus Scrimm, who passed away earlier this year, along with some great new characters.

The information was spotted by the keen-eyed John Squires.
