Star Wars: The Force Awakens actress Daisy Ridley has signed on to star in the book-to-film adaptation of Patrick Ness’ post-apocalyptic YA triology Chaos Walking, according to THR. The film will be directed by Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow, The Bourne Identity) and produced by Doug Davison and Allison Shearmur.
Adapted by Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), the draft script was written by Jamie Linden.
Chaos Walking, “…takes place in a world where there are no women and all living creatures can hear one another’s thoughts in a stream of images, words and sounds called Noise.”
The series began in 2008 with “The Knife of Never Letting Go”, continued in 2009 with “The Ask and the Answer” and culminated in the final book “Monsters of Men”, which came out in 2010.
