Earlier this month, we reported about a new Mark Wahlberg thriller by the name of Home Invasion, which would see the actor defend his wife after several criminals break into their home. Now, Patrick Hughes has been announced as the director, according to TB.
Wahlberg will play a contractor whose artist wife suffers from an illness that prevents her from being in the sunlight and, as such, he builds a futuristic house that blocks out any natural light. When a band of criminals attempts to break into the house to steal one of his wife’s valuable sculptures, he must evade and outsmart them to protect his home.
Hughes previously directed The Hitman’s Bodyguard, which starred Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, The Amityville Horror). Home Invasion is being written by Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners).
I mentioned previously that I thought the inspiration for this movie came from a mix of The Others and Don’t Breathe. After recently seeing Don’t Breathe at the BCHFF, I’m ALL about seeing theoretically disabled people unleashing an entire pallet of whoop-ass!
