‘Ouija: Origin of Evil’ Clip is a Scam…Only it’s Not?!
Universal Pictures released the first clip from Mike Flanagan’s (Absentia, Oculus, Hush) Ouija: Origin of Evil, which appears to take a lot of inspiration from James Wan’s movies like The Conjuring and Insidious, but also gives nods to classics such as The Exorcist.
The footage shows a woman planning a Ouija board trick to scam unsuspecting customers into believing the planchette is moving on its own. Only, there’s a little girl apparently answering all of the questions she’s asking…in another room!
The sequel takes place in 1965 Los Angeles where a widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to bolster their séance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. The youngest daughter is overtaken by the merciless spirit, forcing this small family to confront unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.
Elizabeth Reaser, Annalise Basso, Lulu Wilson and Henry Thomas star.
