‘Hotel Transylvania 3’ Books a Stay on a Monster Cruise Ship

Hotel Transylvania 2

After the monstrous success of the first two films, Sony Pictures Animation announced that Hotel Transylvania 3 will hit theaters September 21, 2018.

This time around, Mavis surprises Dracula with a family voyage on a luxury Monster Cruise Ship so he can take a vacation from providing everyone else’s vacation at the hotel. The rest of Drac’s Pack cannot resist going along and once they leave port, romance zings Drac when he meets the mysterious ship captain Ericka.  Now it’s Mavis’ turn to play the overprotective parent, keeping her dad and Ericka apart. Little do they know that his “too good to be true” love interest is actually a descendent of Van Helsing, arch nemesis to Dracula and all monsters!

Adam Sandler (Dracula), Selena Gomez (Mavis) and Andy Samberg (Johnny) are the first confirmed cast to return.

While I haven’t had a chance to see the second, yet, I did quite enjoy the first.

It’s presumed that Kevin James, Steve Buscemi, David Spade, Fran Drescher and Molly Shannon will reprise their voice roles as well.

Genndy Tartakovsky, who directed the first two trips to Hotel Transylvania, will not return, stating, “Two is enough. I have a lot of other ideas, and I kind of have to express them and have them come out.”

The franchise follows Dracula (Sandler), who operates a high-end resort away from the human world, goes into overprotective mode when a boy discovers the resort and falls for the count’s teen-aged daughter.
