The Ring and Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski director will provide A Cure for Wellness on February 17th.
The film has been shrouded in secrecy, although one thing is for certain, the film has a strong steampunk vibe that looks straight out of the 1990’s. Verbinski had spent years developing a “BioShock” adaptation and every piece of footage looks inspired by his time on that project.
This new UK trailer shows a ton of new footage, including stupendous set designs that echo Verbinski’s work on “BioShock”. We also see Chronicle‘s Dane DeHaan in a whole lot of trouble; this doesn’t look so relaxing…
In the film, “An ambitious young executive is sent to retrieve his company’s CEO from an idyllic but mysterious “wellness center” at a remote location in the Swiss Alps. He soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem. When he begins to unravel its terrifying secrets, his sanity is tested, as he finds himself diagnosed with the same curious illness that keeps all the guests here longing for the cure.”
