German ‘The Devil’s Candy’ Poster is Ridiculous(ly Awesome)

Devil's Candy via IFC Midnight Sean Byrne

This German one-sheet for Loved Ones director Sean Byrne’s heavy metal horror film, The Devil’s Candy, which will be releasing in limited theaters and on VOD platforms March 17th through IFC Midnight, is both absolutely ridiculous and awesome. It shows a pool of blood (actually paint) forming over a house, only it takes the shape of the devil. There’s a paintbrush bring dipped in, tying it directly to Ethan Embry’s character. This is going to be one of the best posters this year, for sure. The German release is set for May 26th.

In THE DEVIL’S CANDY, Jesse, a struggling artist, moves with his wife and daughter into their dream house in rural Texas, the price driven down by the property’s dark past. Their lives soon begin to unravel as the demonic forces lurking in the house take hold of the young family. Jesse’s paintings take a satanic turn while the family is plagued by Ray, the deranged son of the former owners. Soon it becomes clear that Jesse and Ray are both being influenced by the same dark forces and that Jesse and his family aren’t safe from its former inhabitants or indeed from the devil himself.

The film, written and directed by Byrne, stars Ethan Embry, Shiri Appleby, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Kiara Glasco. It was produced by Keith Calder and Jessica Calder for Snoot Entertainment LLC (Blair Witch, You’re Next, The Guest).

‘Onslaught’ – First Look at Unrecognizable Dan Stevens as a Mad Scientist in Adam Wingard’s A24 Movie

Published

on

The brand new official trailer for director Adam Wingard’s new A24 movie Onslaught arrived this morning, with the upcoming film set in the same world as Wingard’s The Guest.

Onslaught is set in the very same town as The Guest, with both films centering on the very same secret program. “So you could actually technically call this a sequel,” Wingard teases.

But will Dan Stevens make an appearance in Onslaught? Yes, actually. The star of The Guest is reteaming with Wingard for Onslaught, but he will NOT be playing the same character.

Instead, Dan Stevens is playing a mad German scientist in Onslaught, presumably the man responsible for creating the film’s “perfect soldiers” gone wrong. Stevens is actually glimpsed in today’s trailer, but he’s completely unrecognizable and buried under heavy prosthetics.

Dan Stevens played David Collins in The Guest, you may recall, a military test subject who becomes an unstoppable super soldier. He’s clearly not playing the same character in Onslaught, but the role of “German Scientist” looks to be a fun wink to his role in The Guest.

Watch the new trailer below for a sneak peek at Dan Stevens as German Scientist!

Adam Wingard’s Onslaught releases in theaters September 4, 2026.

The duo behind The Guest, director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett, are re-teaming for the upcoming Onslaught, which stars Adria Arjona in the leading role.

Here’s the synopsis: “When a rogue squad of genetically engineered super soldiers break loose in the desert, a badass Army sniper must unleash hell to protect her young daughter.”
