Michael Rooker and ‘Henry’ Director John McNaughton Reteaming on ‘A Good Man is Hard to Find’!

Even though Guardians of the Galaxy and “The Walking Dead” have made Michael Rooker famous again, Bloody Disgusting readers have known and loved him since his career began. Speaking of, he’ll be reuniting with his Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer director John McNaughton on a film adaptation of Flannery O’Connor’s novel A Good Man is Hard to Find, reports Deadline.

The O’Conner story, a duel between The Grandmother and The Misfit, revisits familiar territory for Rooker and McNaughton; the author’s 1950s character The Misfit is cut from the same cloth as Henry, whom Rooker portrayed in McNaughton’s 1986 indie loosely based on real-life serial killer Henry Lee Lucas.

Rooker has also starred in two other James Gunn classics, SLiTHER and The Belko Experiment, with the former turning him into a grotesque creature, as well as The Dark Half, Tombstone, Cliffhanger and the most underrated Tom Cruise movie of all time, Days fo Thunder.

McNaughton most recently directed the excellent indie The Harvest. He previous credits include Wild Things and even an episode of “Masters of Horror”.

The Passion of the Christ scribe Benedict Fitzgerald wrote the screenplay. Ed Richardson is producing under his Atlanta-based R&R Productions Worldwide, along with David Zander, and Mike Sears.
