We all know the story of the “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” but with The Girl Who Cried Wolf it sounds as if they’re producing a modern take that’s also an important cautionary tale.
“Days Of Our Lives” star Robert Scott Wilson has come aboard the thriller from director Rob Malenfant, says Deadline.
The pic follows Kendra, a teenage girl who meets Brad (Wilson), a millionaire bachelor star of a reality show, who quickly becomes obsessed with her. Known to lie as a tool to lash out, everyone thinks Kendra is just “crying wolf” about the harassment. By the time Kendra convinces her mother that Brad poses a threat to them both, his behavior has spun out of control, leaving both in danger.
While also sounding like a taut thriller it also carries some important social commentary that it’s wearing right on its sleeve: when a female asks for help, she must be taken seriously.
