Pennywise Asks, “Do You Want a Balloon?” in This Freaky First Clip!
New IT footage is floating up from the sewer!
We have a trio of clips from New Line Cinema’s adaptation of Stephen King‘s terrifying novel, one of which gives us a really good look at Bill Skarsgard‘s performance as Pennywise. When Georgie (Jackson Robert Scott) loses his paper boat down the sewer, the clown retrieves it. Pennywise talks to Georgie, asking if he wants his boat back, and maybe a balloon. He’s both inviting and mortifying, the kind of clown you would feel okay talking to only to realize he probably has a sinister agenda after taking a balloon from him.
There are two more clips, both featuring the Losers’ Club (Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Sophia Lillis, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor). In one, we see them investigating a missing girl, with one of the kids exclaiming, “I don’t want to go missing either.” The other gives us a bit more backstory on the origin of Pennywise’s “look”, zeroing in on the kids’ worst fears.
In the film, “A group of young kids face their biggest fears when they seek answers to the disappearance of children in their hometown of Derry, Maine. They square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.”
