It’s a good thing I’m heading to Orlando in a week because the Universal Studios in Florida is closing one of the coolest attractions, James Cameron’s Terminator 2 3D: Battle Across Time, a direct sequel to his T2: Judgment Day that’s legit awesome.
Here’s the official statement:
“‘Terminator 2: 3-D’ at Universal Studios Florida will run its last shows on Sunday, Oct. 8 to make way for an all-new live action experience based on a high-energy Universal franchise. It will open in 2019. This is one of many exciting new experiences coming to Universal Orlando Resort as we continue our epic growth.”
What Universal property could they be talking about? Child’s Play (ha, I wish)? Transformers? Maybe something to do with their new Dark Universe (doubtful)?
As explained by wiki, the attraction is a mini-sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day and reunites director James Cameron and the main cast from the movie, including Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator, Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, Edward Furlong as John Connor, and Robert Patrick as the T-1000. The show was presented in two parts; a pre-show where a Cyberdyne Systems company hostess shows guests a brief video presentation about the company’s innovations, and the main show, where live performers interact with a 3-D film. Stan Winston is a listed director as well.
