Crispin Glover Plays a Psychopathic Contract Killer in ‘Lucky Day’

Producers Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody, the team behind the Silent Hill films and the Resident Evil franchise, announced today that Crispin Glover (Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Back to the Future, River’s Edge, Willard) has joined the previously announced cast including Nina Dobrev, Luke Bracey, and Michael Madsen in Oscar Award-winning writer/director Roger Avary’s newest feature Lucky Day.

“Glover has signed on to play Luc, an utterly psychopathic contract killer who is on a hunt to avenge the death of his brother, accidentally killed by American safe-cracker Red (Bracey) during a job gone wrong. Dobrev plays Red’s wife and the mother of his child (Chloe).”

Lucky Day is written and directed by Avary – who shared an Oscar with Quentin Tarantino for screenwriting on Pulp Fiction – putting him back in the director’s chair after thirteen years.  Previous directorial efforts include 2002’s The Rules of Attraction and his 1993 breakout Killing Zoe.

Says Hadida: “Crispin is such an immense talent and he brings an iconic presence to any film he appears in. The character he’s playing takes malevolence to a whole new level and Crispin has the ability to give a character like this real nuance.”

Shooting will continue in Toronto through to the beginning of November.
