‘Snowflake’ is the Most Fucked Up German Fairytale [Cinepocalypse]

Hailing out of Germany is Adolfo Kolmerer and William James’s Snowflake, which will hold its North American Premiere at the forthcoming Cinepocalypse in Chicago (get tickets here).

Take a dash of Tarantino, a splash of Coen brothers, a metric ton of meta-textual self-awareness, and a fast-paced series of humorously violent misadventures, and you’re halfway to grasping the magnificent madness of this bizarre German import. A gang of lowlife characters all want revenge on the others, but along the way, they must contend with assassins, madmen, a blood-covered angel, and an electricity-powered superhero.

In the film, “Hunting down the murderer of their families in an anarchic Berlin of the near future, the outlaws Tan and Javid find themselves trapped in the wicked fairytale of a mysterious screenplay that entangles them in a vicious circle of revenge – apparently, all written by a clueless dentist.

Here’s the film’s official festival trailer to go along with some new art and stills.
