As the executive producer and four-time episode director for “Stranger Things,” Shawn Levy is on top of the world at the moment. What’s next for Levy, in addition to more seasons of the hit Netflix series? Well, his next project sounds right up the alley of “Stranger Things” fans.
Variety reports that FOX has purchased John J. Griffin’s spec script for sci-fi film Crater, which was #5 on the 2015 Black List. The plan is for Levy to produce alongside 21 Laps’ Dan Levine, as well as direct the feature film.
“Crater is described as a coming-of-age story in the vein of Stand By Me, set on a moon colony. After the death of his father, a boy growing up on a lunar mining colony takes a trip to explore a mysterious crater, along with his four best friends, prior to being permanently relocated to another planet.”
Rpin Suwannath Paris Latsis, Terry Dougas, and Gordon Gray will exec produce.
