‘Most Beautiful Island’ Trailer and Poster Immigrates for UK Release
Bloody-Disgusting’s Dax Ebaben said, “There has not been a film like Most Beautiful Island in recent memory,” now the UK quad poster and trailer have arrived signaling the release there. Most Beautiful Island premiered to great reviews at this year’s BFI London Film Festival and also won the Grand Jury Award at SXSW 2017. Written, directed by and starring Ana Asensio, who also produced alongside art-horror legend Larry Fessenden’s Glass Eye Pix (Stake Land, The House Of The Devil, Wendy & Lucy, Habit, Wendigo) this striking and chilling film comes to UK cinemas and VOD on December 1, 2017.
Inspired by real-life events, Most Beautiful Island is a high-suspense, psychological thriller examining the plight of undocumented female immigrants hoping to make a life in New York. Shot on Super 16 with an intimate, voyeuristic sensibility, Most Beautiful Island chronicles one harrowing day in the life of Luciana (Asensio), a young woman struggling to make ends meet while striving to escape her past. As Luciana’s day unfolds, she is whisked, physically and emotionally, through a series of troublesome, unforeseeable extremes. Before her day is done, she inadvertently finds herself a central participant in a twisted and dangerous game.

Deadline details, “the English-language film will tell the story of a group of people, including two young women, who are trapped upside down on a roller coaster taken over by a mysterious saboteur threatening to drop them all one-by-one to their deaths.”
Film Bridge International is launching the project for sales ahead of the Cannes market.
Chad Law and Christopher Jolley wrote the screenplay.
“Thrill Ride is exactly the type of high-concept based thriller that our customers are looking for in the marketplace,” said Film Bridge’s Ellen Wander and Jordan Dykstra. “With Ryuhei at the helm, we know his vision and execution will deliver thrills of the highest quality.”
