‘Conjuring’ Writers Team With Joel Silver For Horror Project

The Hayes brothers, the sibling duo behind The Conjuring, are teaming up with producer Joel Silver on an original horror movie, Variety reports.

Details are being kept under wraps, but the film is being set at Sony, where Columbia Pictures executive vice president of creative production Palak Patel will oversee the development.

The brothers, Chad Hayes and Carey Hayes established themselves as among the preeminent creative forces in the horror genre. In addition to The Conjuring, the Hayes brothers have written The CrucifixionThe Reaping, and House of Wax, the latter two for Silver’s Dark Castle.

Silver is best known as the producer of Predator, Die Hard, and  The Matrix, as well as several horror films under the Dark Castle label including the aforementioned, Gothika, The Reaping, 13 Ghosts, and others.

‘Heart of the Beast’ Trailer – Brad Pitt Stars in Brutal Survival Thriller Featuring a Man and His Dog

From director David Ayer (Suicide Squad, Fury), Heart of the Beast will hit theaters on September 25 from Paramount Pictures, and the official trailer has arrived this morning.

In the film, “After a harrowing plane crash, Special Forces officer James Belmont (Brad Pitt) and his combat dog, Odin, find themselves stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness.

“Together, they are forced into a brutal fight for survival against the elements.”

Heart of the Beast is said to be “an intense adventure thriller that explores the unbreakable bond between a man and his best friend as they face their greatest battle yet.”

J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) and Anna Lambe (“True Detective: Night Country”) also star.

Cameron Alexander wrote the screenplay for Heart of the Beast. Academy Award winner Mauro Fiore (Avatar, Spider-Man: No Way Home) serves as director of photography.

David Ayer promises, “Don’t worry, the dog lives.”
