We were surprised how much fun director Hèctor Hernández Vicens’ remake of the late George Romero’s Day of the Dead, titled Day of the Dead: Bloodline, looked when the trailer hit earlier this month, and today brings another sneak peek via a clip from EW.
In it we meet Johnathon Schaech’s Max, who is clearly a new take on Bub.
“A former medical student named Zoe is tormented by a dark figure from her past,” writes EW. “He’s a half-human, half-undead ghoul hell-bent on destroying Zoe’s world.”
Bloodline arrives in theaters, VOD, and Digital HD on January 5, 2018.
In the reimagining, “A small group of military personnel and survivalists dwell in an underground bunker as they seek to find a cure in a world overrun by zombies.”
The film stars Sophie Skelton, Johnathon Schaech, Marcus Vanco, Jeff Gum (Exeter, The Vault), Lorina Kamburova (Nightworld, Leatherface Death Race 4), Nick Loeb, Rachel O’Meara, Debbie Sherman, Luke Cousins, Nathan Cooper, Lillian Blankenship, and Cristina Serafini. Campbell Grobman Films (Leatherface, Hellboy) produces with Jeff Rice.
