IFC Midnight Enters Paranormal ‘Our House’

IFC Midnight has acquired U.S. distribution rights for the supernatural suspense thriller Our House, starring Thomas Mann, Nicola Peltz, and Percy Hynes White, and directed by Anthony Scott Burns in his feature film debut.

In the film, a young genius accidentally invents a device that amplifies the paranormal activity within his family’s house, possibly bringing back the spirits of loved ones, and unleashing things far worse.

Our House was written by Moon scribe Nathan Parker and was produced by Propero Pictures, Resolute Films, Senator Film Produktion and XYZ Films. Producers include Lee Kim, Martin Katz, Ulf Israel and Karen Wookey, and executive producers are John Davis of Davis Entertainment, Nick Spicer of XYZ Films, and Kyle Franke, Derek Dauchy, Noah Segal, Adrian Love, David Kehrl and Reik Moller. XYZ is selling international rights and will be screening the film in Berlin. Elevation has taken the film for Canadian distribution, and Wild Bunch will be handling Germany.

‘Drop’ – Violett Beane Joins the Cast of Christopher Landon’s New Thriller

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
