Rather than getting that Men in Black/21 Jump Street crossover that was recently brought up, it looks like we’re instead getting a full-on Men in Black reboot, and the news hitting the web today is that Chris Hemsworth is in talks to lead the new film.
“Hemsworth would play one of the new agents in the spinoff. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not reprise their roles in the film, which is meant to launch a new franchise with fresh talent,” says Variety.
Additionally, it’s being reported that he’ll star alongside a black actress.
F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) is directing for Sony. Matt Holloway and Art Marcum wrote the script. Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are producing, with Steven Spielberg executive producing.
The Men in Black (or is it Man and Woman in Black?) are set to return May 17, 2019.
