With films like Cabin Fever, Hostel and The Green Inferno, Eli Roth sure hasn’t established himself as a family-friendly filmmaker, but he stepped outside his comfort zone with this year’s Death Wish and he’s doing the same for his seventh feature.
Roth partners with Amblin Entertainment for The House with a Clock in Its Walls, a family-friendly adventure/horror film that looks like it was ripped right out of the pages of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps. The film is indeed an adaptation of a children’s book, one penned by John Bellairs and illustrated by Edward Gorey back in 1973.
