With a 97% “fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes, director/star John Krasinski has a mega hit on his hands with A Quiet Place, which is currently estimated to make in the ballpark of $50 million this weekend. That is an absolutely HUGE opening weekend for a horror film, one that’s damn near unprecedented when we’re talking original horror.
It seems everyone loves A Quiet Place… even Stephen King!
King just saw the film and tweeted, “A QUIET PLACE is an extraordinary piece of work. Terrific acting, but the main thing is the SILENCE, and how it makes the camera’s eye open wide in a way few movies manage.”
